Terms of Use — Sid Apps

Effective date: 2 July 2026 Last updated: 5 September 2026 Applies to: Sid Apps for Android (package com.sdai.news).

By installing, opening, or using Sid Apps (the “App”) you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall and do not use it.

Publisher Sudhir D, independent individual developer, India
App Sid Apps, Android package com.sdai.news

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, and the App is recommended for ages 16+ because it presents real-world news. It is not directed at children under 13.

3. What the App is — and is not

Sid Apps has two parts: a news aggregator and Scan to Know, a product-safety scanner.

The news feed fetches publicly available headlines, summaries, images, links, and public video-news listings from third-party publishers and presents them in a swipeable feed (World / national / regional / video / positive news).

Scan to Know uses your camera to read a product barcode (decoded on-device), looks the product up in Open Food Facts, and sends the product details to Google Gemini (a cloud AI service) to generate a safety rating and breakdown. See §5A.

The App:

References to publishers, brands, or authors identify the source of an aggregated item and imply no affiliation or endorsement.

4. Permitted & prohibited use

You may use the App for personal, non-commercial reading — read, bookmark, share links, open articles in your browser, and open video news in YouTube.

You agree not to: reverse-engineer or modify the App except as law permits; scrape or mass-extract content for redistribution or commercial use; violate any publisher’s or platform’s terms (including YouTube); overload the App or its sources; or use automated means to access it.

5. Editorial disclaimer

Headlines, summaries, images and video listings are sourced from public feeds for general information only. We do not produce, edit, fact-check, endorse, or verify content. On-device filtering reduces graphic/objectionable material but cannot catch everything. Verify any news independently before relying on it for financial, medical, legal, or other consequential decisions.

6. No warranty & limitation of liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND (merchantability, fitness, non-infringement, uninterrupted/error-free operation, or accuracy/availability of any content, feed, channel, or video).

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, the Publisher is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, loss of data/goodwill, reliance on displayed content, inability to access the App or any third-party site/video, or the conduct/content of any third-party publisher or platform (including YouTube). If the Publisher is nonetheless found liable, aggregate liability shall not exceed INR 100 (or local equivalent), reflecting that the App is free.

The App links to third-party publishers and YouTube. Those services are not operated by the Publisher, are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and may set cookies, run analytics/ads, show comments/recommendations, or require sign-in. The Publisher is not responsible for their availability, accuracy, content, or practices.

Chat via Bluetooth

Chat via Bluetooth is provided for casual, personal use with people nearby. It is not intended for confidential, commercial, emergency or safety-critical communication.

  1. Text only. Messages are text and emoji. Photos, audio and files cannot be sent or received.
  2. No server. Nothing is uploaded. Messages travel directly between the phones in the room over Bluetooth, and a room’s history is stored only on those devices. There is no backup and no way to recover it.
  3. The host can read the room. The person hosting relays every message, so their device processes what passes through it. Join only rooms hosted by someone you trust.
  4. Your content, your responsibility. You are responsible for what you send and for anything you receive. Talk decently: no bad language, insults or harassment, and nothing unlawful.
  5. Moderation tools. You can block and report anyone from the Members list. Blocking takes effect immediately; as host, a blocked device cannot rejoin.
  6. Limitation of liability. Sid Apps and its developers do not review, moderate, back up or recover any message shared over this local connection, and accept no responsibility or liability for user-generated content or for any loss of data arising from its use.

You are asked to accept these chat terms once, in-app, before the feature can be used. The acceptance is recorded on your device and can be reviewed at any time under Rules on the chat home screen, or Settings → Chat disclaimer.
