What Sid Apps does

📰 News

A swipeable feed of World, national, and regional headlines plus video news, drawn from public sources (Google News, publisher RSS, YouTube channel feeds) and ordered on your own device. Optional location tunes the national and regional-language editions; share nothing and you get World news. On-device content filtering keeps it suitable for a general audience.

🔎 Scan to Know

Point your camera at a product barcode and get a plain-language safety rating. The barcode is decoded on your device (Google ML Kit — the image never leaves the phone), product details come from Open Food Facts, and the rating and breakdown are generated by Google Gemini. Past scans are kept in local history.

🗞️ Daily Briefing & Alerts

An AI-written summary of the day’s top stories, plus breaking news and health-related recalls/advisories.

🎮 Games

Sudoku, kids’ language learning, and a Word of the Day dictionary — all on-device.

Privacy at a glance

The news feed is device-only — no analytics, no accounts, no advertising IDs.
Your location and reading history stay on your device.
Scan to Know sends only product data (never your identity) to Open Food Facts and Google Gemini to produce a rating.
